Terms of Use

Note: This terms document describes Tintawire's usage policies and limitations. The content is operator-authored and binding on all users.

Effective date: 2026-07-27 Last updated: 2026-07-27

What this covers

Your use of Tintawire ("we", "the service", "tintawire.com"). By signing in, you agree to these terms.

What tintawire is

A web app that lets you collect articles, generate AI-powered digests of them, and share them in private Spaces with people you invite. Originally built for personal use; opened to a small, controlled beta cohort.

Account

What you can use it for

What you can't use it for

We may terminate accounts that violate these terms.

AI-generated content

Tintawire uses a large language model to generate digests of the articles you save. AI-generated content is not professional advice.

The digest belongs to your account; we don't claim ownership of the digest text the model generates for you. You're responsible for how you use it.

Your content

You retain ownership of the articles, annotations, comments, and notes you author. By using the service, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store, display, and process your content for the purpose of operating the service (rendering it back to you, indexing for search, generating digests, sharing within Spaces you grant access to).

This license ends when you delete the content (after the 30-day recycle bin window).

Our content

The Tintawire name, logo, design system, UI patterns, and code are ours unless explicitly open-sourced. The open-source repository (when published) is governed by the repository's LICENSE file, not these terms.

Termination

You can stop using the service at any time. To delete your account, see the "Your rights" section of the Privacy Policy.

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice depending on severity. Where possible we'll give you notice before suspension. Egregious abuse (spam, infringement, illegal use, security violations) gets immediate suspension.

Service availability

The service runs on self-managed infrastructure. We try to keep it up, but we don't guarantee uptime. Planned maintenance windows will be announced in-app where feasible. No SLA. Don't build production processes on top of tintawire.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law:

This doesn't limit liability we can't disclaim under applicable law (gross negligence, willful misconduct).

Disputes

These terms are governed by California law. Disputes resolved in California courts.

If you're a consumer in a jurisdiction with stronger protection, the local consumer-protection statutes apply where they conflict.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes get an in-app notice + an updated "Last updated" date. Continuing to use the service after a material change means you accept the new terms.
